Apple Used India's NavIC GPS System in iPhone 15 Models: MoS IT

Apple has incorporated India's Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC) GPS system in its iPhone 15 models, Union minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar said on Thursday. NavIC, which is powered by ISRO satellites, will be available along with other GPS systems of Galeilio and Glosnas in iPhone 15. On September 12, Apple unveiled iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models, and they will be available for purchase later this month. "There are two big milestones that emerge from the Apple announcement of their newest Iphone 15. One is certainly a very satisfying announcement which is that on the very day a customer in New York, Tokyo or London gets in their hand on an iPhone 15, an Indian customer will also get the iPhone on the same day," Chandrasekhar said. SAP's India Arm Eyes More Patents, Jobs Amid AI Push

SAP SE's Indian arm hopes to double its share of the German software giant's patents and add 3,000 jobs per year as it bets bigger on artificial intelligence , a top executive told Reuters on Thursday. SAP Labs India Managing Director Sindhu Gangadharan hopes the Indian unit will scale up its share of global SAP patents to 50 percent from 25 percent currently, she said in an interview on the sidelines of an event in Bengaluru. The company, which looks to double its AI talent base by 2024, expects "3,000 new joinees to enter the organisation every year", Gangadharan said, in a bid to quell fears that the rise of the emerging technology could hurt job growth. Honor 90 5G  was launched in India on Thursday. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC and houses a 5,000mAh battery with 66W wired SuperCharge technology. The handset is offered in three storage variants and in three colour options. It comes with a 200-megapixel primary rear sensor and a 50-megapixel front camera sensor. Honor Tech, the company behind the launch, said that it will provide two years of Android OS updates and three years of security updates for the Honor 90 5G in India.
