Xiaomi India Officials, 3 Banks Served ED Notice for FEMA Violation

Xiaomi India CFO Sameer Rao, former MD Manu Jain and three banks are said to have received show-cause notice from the Enforcement Directorate (ED). According to an official, the ED has served show-cause notice for FEMA violation of over Rs. 5,551 crore.  The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday confirmed in a tweet that it has issued show-cause notices to Chinese mobile manufacturer Xiaomi, its chief financial officer and director Sameer Rao, former MD Manu Jain and three foreign banks for alleged foreign exchange violation of more than Rs. 5,551 crore. Amazon Signs Agreement With ICAR to Help Farmers Enrolled Under Kisan Store

E-commerce firm Amazon India on Friday signed an agreement with the government's premier agri-research body ICAR to guide farmers enrolled in its 'Kisan store' on scientific cultivation of different crops and help them achieve optimum yield and income. A 'Kisan store' section was launched on the Amazon platform in September 2021. Farmers can avail of doorstep delivery of agri input products via Kisan store through assisted shopping at Amazon Easy stores. The outcomes from a pilot project at Pune between the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)-Krishi Vigyan Kendra and Amazon India have motivated to further expand the partnership, the company said in a statement. Artificial Intelligence as a technology in its current form is largely task-oriented and not capable of dealing with a situation where logic and reasoning are needed, according to Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar who noted that he does not see any threat to job loss from it. "While AI is disruptive we do not see in the next few years the so-called threat of replacing the jobs. Because of the current stage of the development of AI is very task-oriented and not reasoning, logic and etc," Union Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, Skill Development, Electronics, and Technology said at a press conference here held to highlight the initiatives taken by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government so far. General Motors will join Ford in adopting Tesla's North American charging plug standard and give GM electric-vehicle buyers access to the Tesla Supercharger network under an agreement announced on Thursday. Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg on Thursday told employees that while Apple's mixed reality gear may be nice, it is not his vision of the future, according to US media reports.
