Microsoft, OpenAI Aim for ChatGPT AI-Backed Bing Version to Compete With Google: Report

Microsoft is reportedly getting ready to launch a version of its search engine Bing that will leverage the AI behind ChatGPT, a chatbot created by OpenAI. Microsoft provided $1 billion in funding to the San Francisco-based artificial intelligence startup OpenAI in 2019. In order to build artificial intelligence supercomputing technologies on Microsoft's Azure cloud computing service, the two have established a multi-year agreement. ChatGPT has led some to declare that AI chat will obliterate traditional search engines. Google is said to be in "code red" mode because of the technology. According to a report by The Information on Tuesday citing two people with direct knowledge of the plans, Microsoft intends to compete with Alphabet-owned search engine Google. CES 2023: Dell UltraSharp 6K Monitor With IPS Black Technology Launched, Concept Nyx Game Controller Unveiled

Dell unveiled three new monitors based on LG Display's IPS Black technology ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023. The new products include Dell UltraSharp 32 6K monitor, Dell UltraSharp 34 Curved USB-C Hub monitor and Dell UltraSharp 43 4K USB-C Hub monitor. The Dell UltraSharp 32 6K, as the name suggests, offers a 6K resolution display with VESA Display HDR 600. It features dual 14W speakers and has an inbuilt dual gain HDR 4K Webcam. The Dell UltraSharp 34 Curved USB-C Hub and Dell UltraSharp 43 4K USB-C Hub monitors share identical specifications. Alongside the monitors, the American tech brand has also announced a new gaming controller concept called Concept Nyx that allows users to access gaming libraries across multiple devices and screens simultaneously. OnePlus Announces Support for Jio, Airtel 5G Services on Phones Launched Since 2020

OnePlus has announced support for 5G networks on all its recently launched smartphones in India. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has enabled 5G connectivity on all of its 5G capable handsets launched since 2020. These include the company's most affordable phone, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G, to flagship phones like the OnePlus 10 Pro 5G. The company started launching 5G-compatible phones in 2020 with the OnePlus 8 series including OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, and OnePlus 8T. All the OnePlus users who own a 5G handset will be able to access 5G services, according to the company. In a press release, the company revealed that all smartphones launched since the OnePlus 8 series and the OnePlus Nord, in 2020, are now able to connect to 5G networks from all telecom providers in India. Satya Nadella Calls Cloud a 'Big Game Changer', Says There Is Tremendous Momentum in Cloud Adoption

Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella on Tuesday said there is a tremendous momentum in cloud adoption, as he termed cloud a "big game changer". Nadella, who is currently in India, addressed Microsoft Future Ready Leadership Summit in Mumbai on Tuesday. He is also scheduled to visit Delhi and Bengaluru this week, and will be meeting key customers, startups, developers, educators and students during his India visit. Nadella, in his address on Tuesday, listed cloud and Artificial Intelligence (AI) as imperatives that can be helpful in driving economic growth. "Cloud has been a big game changer... cloud is in early-to-intermediate innings...," Nadella said and noted the "tremendous momentum in cloud adoption." South Korea Proposes Stronger Incentives, Bigger Tax Breaks to Boost Critical Chip Sector

South Korea's government plans to hike tax breaks for big chip companies' capex to as much as 25 percent, after President Yoon Suk Yeol called for bigger incentives to fuel the critical sector. Big companies will get a tax credit of 15 percent on investments on manufacturing facilities, up from the planned 8 percent under legislation passed last month, according to a finance ministry statement. Smaller companies' capex spending will get a tax break of 25 percent, up from 16 percent. Any additional investment in chipmaking in 2023 will get another 10 percent tax break, the ministry said. The broadened plan, which will be proposed this month, could reduce the tax burden on companies by more than $2.8 billion (roughly Rs. 23,170 crore). Home to leading memory chipmakers Samsung and SK Hynix , Korea has been caught between the US and China in an escalating fight over semiconductors, which control key technologies from artificial intelligence to missile defenses.
