Samsung Faces $303 Million Jury Verdict for Patent Infringement

Computer-memory company Netlist convinced a federal jury in Texas on Friday to award it more than $303 million (roughly Rs. 2,500 crore) for Samsung Electronics 's infringement of several patents related to improvements in data processing. The jury in Marshall, Texas determined after a six-day trial that Samsung's "memory modules" for high-performance computing willfully infringed all five patents that Netlist accused the Korean tech giant of violating. Representatives for the companies did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Netlist stock was up 21 percent following the verdict on Friday afternoon. Irvine, California-based Netlist sued Samsung in 2021, alleging Samsung memory products used in cloud-computing servers and other data-intensive technology infringe its patents. iQoo 12 5G may soon be introduced with support for 200W fast charging technology. Acer launched a series of new laptops on Thursday. The devices expanded the company's existing Predator, Swift and Vero series. The new launches include the Acer Predator Triton 17 X, Acer Predator Triton 14, Acer Predator Helios Neo 16, Acer Predator Helios 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition, Acer Swift X 16, and Acer Aspire Vero 15 laptops. The new Predator lineup and the Vero device are all powered by 13th Gen Intel processors while the Swift series device is backed by an AMD Ryzen chipset. The company also confirmed the prices and launch timelines of the devices. Alphabet to Consolidate Google Brain, DeepMind AI Research Units in Race to Keep Up With Rival ChatGPT

Alphabet is combining Google Brain and DeepMind , as it doubles down on artificial intelligence research in its race to compete with rival systems like OpenAI's ChatGPT chatbot. The new division will be led by DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis and its setting up will ensure "bold and responsible development of general AI", Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai said in a blog post on Thursday.
