OpenAI-Integrated Microsoft Bing Outperforms Google in Page Visits Growth

The integration of OpenAI's technology into Microsoft-owned Bing has driven people to the little-used search engine and helped it compete better with market leader Google in page visits growth, according to data from analytics firm Similarweb. Page visits on Bing have risen 15.8 percent since Microsoft  unveiled its artificial intelligence -powered version on February 7, compared with a near 1 percent decline for the Alphabet -owned search engine, data till March 20 showed. The figures are an early sign of the lead the Windows maker has taken in its fast-moving race with Google for generative AI dominance, thanks to the technology behind ChatGPT , the viral chatbot that many experts have called AI's " iPhone moment". They also underscore a rare opportunity for Microsoft to make inroads in the over $120 billion (nearly Rs. 9,89,600 crore) search market, where Google has been the dominant player for decades with a share of more than 80 percent. ChatGPT, Other AI Models Said to Have Complicated EU’s Efforts to Form Landmark Rule

Rapid technological advances such as the ChatGPT generative artificial intelligence (AI) app are complicating efforts by European Union lawmakers to agree on landmark AI laws, sources with direct knowledge of the matter have told Reuters. The European Commission proposed the draft rules nearly two years ago in a bid to protect citizens from the dangers of the emerging technology, which has experienced a boom in investment and consumer popularity in recent months. The draft needs to be thrashed out between EU countries and EU lawmakers, called a trilogue, before the rules can become law. Several lawmakers had expected to reach a consensus on the 108-page bill last month in a meeting in Strasbourg, France and proceed to a trilogue in the next few months. But a 5-hour meeting on Feb 13 resulted in no resolution and lawmakers are at loggerheads over various facets of the Act, according to three sources familiar with the discussions. While the industry expects an agreement by the end o

'The iPhone Moment of AI' Nvidia to Rent Out Supercomputers Behind ChatGPT to Businesses for $37,000 a Month

Nvidia Corp Chief Executive Jensen Huang on Tuesday laid out the company's plans to make the powerful and expensive supercomputers used to develop AI technologies like ChatGPT available for rent to nearly any business. While that access will not come cheap - at $37,000 (roughly Rs. 30 lakhs) a month for eight of Nvidia's flagship A100 or H100 chips strung together - offering it to a wider swath of business customers could accelerate an AI boom that has driven Nvidia shares up 77 percent this year, making it about five times more valuable than longtime rival Intel Corp. The Santa Clara, California-based company already dominates the field for artificial intelligence chips and has helped partners like Microsoft Corp build huge systems for ChatGPT creator OpenAI's services to answer questions with human-like text and generate images from prompts. At Nvidia's annual software developer conference on Tuesday, Huang said the company was working with partners such as Or

The app, which was popular among users before it was banned, continues to retain information on its users from India who can no longer access the video sharing platform, according to a report. TikTok is currently facing the possibility of a ban in the US, where the app has grown in popularity, over national security concerns. Meanwhile, other countries like Belgium, Denmark, New Zealand, the UK, and the EU have blocked the use of TikTok on government devices.
