South Korea's Samsung Display has filed a lawsuit against BOE Technology, accusing the Chinese rival of infringing five of its patents for displays used in mobile devices including Apple 's iPhone 12 . Samsung Display, a unit of Samsung Electronics, asked a federal jury in Texas to award damages for the infringement of patents regarding organic light emitting diode (OLED) displays supplied by BOE. Samsung also seeks an injunction from the court to halt the import and sale of the affected displays. The case was filed on Wednesday with the US court in East Texas, which has a reputation for quicker hearings and decisions on cases. Elon Musk's Twitter Puts Temporary Limit on Number of Tweets: Here's What It Means

Elon Musk 's Twitter has put a temporary limit on the number of tweets that users can see each day, a move that has sparked some backlash and could undermine the social network's efforts to attract advertisers. The limit, imposed to "address extreme levels of data scraping and system manipulation", is the latest change by Twitter , which was last year acquired by Musk for $44 billion (nearly Rs. 3,60,550 crore).  What does the latest change mean and what are the alternatives to Twitter? How do the changes impact users? Users cannot view tweets without logging in to the platform. Verified accounts can now read 6,000 posts per day, unverified accounts 600 posts and new un-verified accounts 300 posts. After that, users will get a message that says, "rate limit exceeded". Musk has said that limit will "soon" increase to 10,000 for verified, 1,000 for unverified and 500 for new unverified. He has been pushing to make Twitter's overhauled verif

Japan Said to Be Leaning Towards Softer Rules for AI Regulation Than EU

Japan is leaning towards softer rules governing the use of artificial intelligence ( AI ) than the European Union, said an official close to deliberations, as it looks to the technology to boost economic growth and make it a leader in advanced chips. The aim by year end is to work out an approach for AI that will likely be closer to the US attitude than the stringent rules championed by the EU , said the official, who declined to be identified as they were not authorised to talk with media. A softer Japanese approach could dull EU efforts to establish its rules as a global benchmark, with requirements such as companies disclosing copyrighted material used to train AI systems that generate content like text and graphics. EU industry chief Thierry Breton is visiting Tokyo this week to promote the bloc's approach to AI rule-making as well as to deepen cooperation in semiconductors. The government official did not elaborate on areas where Japan's rules were likely to differ fr
