Volkswagen Plans to Launch First EV in India by 2024: All Details

Volkswagen plans to bring its first electric vehicle in India next year with the launch of premium electric SUV ID.4 to tap the opportunity in the fast-growing electric mobility space in the country, a senior company official said on Tuesday. By 2030, Volkswagen expects 25-30 percent of its total sales in India to come from EVs and the rest from internal combustion engine vehicles. The company, which has introduced a slew of new variants of its existing conventional engine models, Taigun and Virtus, is looking at a sales growth of 40-45 percent this year. UPI Most Preferred Mode for Digital Payments in India in 2022; 87.92 Billion Transactions Processed: Report

In India, payment modes like UPI , debit and credit cards, and prepaid payment instruments — Mobile and Prepaid cards —processed 87.92 billion transactions worth Rs. 149.5 trillion during 2022, according to a new report. In terms of UPI, Person-to-Merchant (P2M) and Person-to-Person (P2P) are the most preferred payment modes among consumers with a market share of 40 percent and 44 percent in terms of transactions volume (UPI was 84 percent in total), according to Worldline in its India Digital Payments Annual Report. However, in terms of value, Unified Payments Interface (UPI) P2M accounted for 18 percent share whereas UPI P2P accounted for 66 percent of digital transactions by value. P2P transactions are not necessarily payments and can also be potentially money transfers among people. This is followed by payment through credit and debit cards which accounted for 7 percent in volume and 14 percent in value, the report said. Oppo Rollable Phone Spotted on Patent Site; Invisible Camera Design Hinted: Report

Oppo may introduce a new rollable smartphone to the market in the near future. A patent application from the company has reportedly been spotted on the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) website. The company has also launched the Oppo Find N2 Flip and the Oppo Find N2 foldable smartphones in December 2022. Oppo is also expected to launch the Find N3 model, expanding its foldable smartphone range, soon. However, the rollable smartphone, if and when launched, will employ a different technology than the existing foldable devices. According to a 91Mobiles Hindi report , Oppo, the Chinese phone manufacturing company, has applied for a new patent for a rollable smartphone. The report states that the design images seen in the patent suggest that its main body will have a bar-shaped design, with the rear cameras and LED flash modules visible on the back panel.
